Paul Meier and An Irreligious Faith

Meier

In his book, An Irreligious Faith, Glenn Hager describes the process that moved him beyond the boundaries of the church as an institution and into uncharted territory. He gives voice to the frustrations of many Christians who want to focus on love and the example of Jesus rather than on what one has to believe. Following Jesus means turning love into action. There’s no simple or single answer to reforming the church. We’ll begin by encouraging groups of people to attempt new ways of serving that they determine is best in their setting and not worrying if they conform to a prescribed plan determined by a distant hierarchy. As we build on our successes and learn from our failures, we will become more effective in being the body of Christ in the world.

–  Paul W. Meier, author of the In Living Color series – The Lord’s Prayer and The Beatitudes (Malcolm Creek Publishing).
