What Does God Require of Us?

When pressed to summarize what he required, Jesus said, love God and love your neighbor. Paul, the Apostle fleshed this out by saying that God wants living sacrifices. He is asking for a huge religious paradigm shift that calls for an end to people trying to appease God. He is not looking for rituals or behaviors that involve us doing something to gain his favor. Rather, he wants us to live out a life of love toward God and man that naturally flows out his love for us.

  1. Love God and love others, yet we see so many trying to follow the ten commandments or do good works hoping to be better people or earn God’s approval. All the time ignoring love of others while we condemn those who do not agree with us and discriminate against those we think are wrong. If we could just get it in our heart and mind that God lives within us and the strength to love is within us through the Holy Spirit.
