Not thinking is easier than thinking.

Believing as we are told is easier than testing those beliefs.

Finding a tribe (political party, denomination, unnamed segment of “people like us”) and following them is easier than finding out who we really are and being true to ourselves.

Rejecting something out-of-hand because of its source is easier than discovering some truth in an unlikely place.

Believing the projected image is easier than researching reality.

Hanging out with people who believe just like us is easier than being in the minority.

Grouping people together and calling them “them” is easier than getting to know individuals.

Opposing characterizations is easier than finding what people really mean.

Talking about some people is easier than talking to them.

Following expectations is easier than being true to yourself.

Group think is easier than me thinking.

Being a puppet is easier than taking responsibility for ourselves.

Believing sound bites is easier than delving deeper.
